I'm telling you guys, the movie doesn't exist anymore. Anybody seeing it for the first time right now isn't seeing it. I can't imagine how retarded this movie is on TV.

Did they redub the entire movie for the home release? Because if not I don't see how any sort of theatre could make this movie not be retarded.

Or, more realistically, maybe the 3D has some sort of hypnotizing affect that makes you more retarded.

I know what I'm saying makes no sense at all. I know the movie is relentlessly stupid. I know technically the picture and visuals still look great on a TV.

You still have no idea what it was. It was a bad movie with a snoozer of a story made into something enthralling on a giant 3D screen. The whole time was just "holy hell this is stupid. But...whoa".

This was one of the few movies made for 3D. Clash of the Titans and The Last Airbender and shit just get it added in after the movie is filmed

What is so wrong about his big knife? I think they sold that scene. I'd say it even seems pretty practical given the technology and context. Melee weapons for mechs and power armor is hardly without precedent in science fiction anyways. Maybe an axe would make more sense for tasks the suit alone couldn't do, but that guy seemed like the sort to opt for a scaled up bowie knife given the chance so it worked.

Unobtainium has been touched on already, and while it has precedent in the science community, it was still a poor choice.

And seeing as though on Earth those mechs were probably used to fight other guys in mechs it makes enough sense.

Yeah, it's pretty stupid. It is a fucking robot, mount a knife on the arm like the predator. Pulling the robot knife from his robot sheath strapped to his robot belt was a dumb ass forced dramatic movie moment.

And seriously, if we can fly to other fucking planets and shit we are not fighting anyone hand to hand on earff. Even in our repainted cargo loaders from Aliens with totally bitchin' sweet robot knives.
