"From a cell, a man tells us he has planned the perfect bank robbery; he invites us to watch. An efficient gang enters a Manhattan bank, locks the doors, and takes hostages. They work deliberately, without haste. A snarky detective facing corruption charges is assigned to negotiate. The bank's president has something to protect in a safe deposit box, so he brings in a high-powered fixer. With an army of police surrounding the bank, the thief, the cop, and the plutocrat's fixer enter high-stakes negotiations. Why are the robbers asking for a plane - they know they won't get one. Why aren't they in more of a hurry? If the job's perfect, why is the thieves' leader in a cell?" -from IMDB.com
I love caper movies. Inside Man works as a stylish caper flick, but it's more ambitious than that. It's a Spike Lee joint, so race plays a part in the movie, albeit a secondary one. I'm interested to see what people have to say about this movie. Jodie Foster puts in some good work ("you're a magnificent cunt!"), and Clive Owen is excellent.

This movie was a let down for me. It had such an excellent trailer, it really got me pumped. When I saw the the movie I was enjoying it a lot, but it completely lost me as it entered the third act and came to a close. The build up was great, but I thought the end did not live up to everything that came before.
I saw this movie upon its release, and I remember liking it. However, I don't remember what the "twist" to this movie is. I even bought it on HD DVD for $3, but I never watched it....so I guess I'll be watching this sometime this week.
