There was actually mention of this maybe being part of the Collector's Edition set, I believe they had a multiple choice questionire asking people what they'd like to see in it and one of the options was God of War I & II on Blu-Ray so there's still some hope.

Would be nice to be able to get this with the Collector's Edition at a possibly slightly lower bundled price, I would get it since I never played the first two either.

The questionnaire was released when they were thinking of what to put into the Collector's Edition of GoW3. Since the vast majority voted to have these two games on a single Blu-Ray, Sony figured they would release it as a standalone product and get some more money into their pockets.

Perfect. Never did own the first GoW and just borrowed it off a friend. Own and love the second one, so this is a perfect excuse to dig in.

cool for those that missed it..but i'm not rebuying this 'just' for ps2 720p. not sure how much better you can expect it to look, even if it is GOW..and the originals also ran at 60fps albeit w/ slowdown.
