Magic Box isn't a definite source. The rumors have been flying around recently.
I'll wait till Playmore's site confirms it.
According to Magicbox, KOF 2001 is planned for a December release on DC.
I'm tempted to kiss my Dreamcast but don't feel like going to ER again. *-neo

Death never looked so good.
Mmm my bad, I thought Magicbox was confirming a Playmore press release or net posting. Isn't a Slug game rumored to be heading for DC too? *-neo
*EDIT* Looks like Magicbox got the info from www.gamefront.de

!!!!!!!!!!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYUUUUUUUUHHHH!!!!!
Okay, that's the most smilies I've ever put into one post. Gamefront seems to have a pretty damn good track record for rumours (Ikaruga, Rare going multi, and others), and this hardly seems beyond the realm of possibility since Playmore already said they'd do it and/or Slug if 2000 got enough interest. I guess it did.
All I can say is, cosmic justice is being served, and the Dreamcast's apparent early death is being rectified. KoF 2000, 2001, Ikaruga, maybe Metal Slug...what next?

If it is true, then no question: SNK vs Capcom baby.Originally posted by StriderKyo

We can only hope, but to be honest I'd be suprised. Considering we haven't seen a single screen shot yet, and considering SNK still seems to want to grant a certain time frame of Neo Geo exclusivity, I'd be kinda suprised if there was still a Dreamcast market by the time it would be ready.Originally posted by Freeter

Come on Playmore, you're strapped for cash, and you've got a perfect emulator (save for disc access time on some heavy streaming games) - we need a Neo Geo smash pack! Magician Lord, Baseball Stars, Nam '75, Samurai Shodown 2, Blue's Journey...yeah, that would go over nicely.
But Metal Slug 4'll do, heh.

Awesome. I want the slug rumour to come true. The dc needs a slug game.
I'll raise my glass to Playmore again if the KOF 2001 thing holds true.
If Metal Slug 4 hits the DC, I'm there.
Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)
I doubt we'll know for quite a while, you'd imagine this kind of announcement would hurt 2000 sales. Would be very cool if only to compare the games. A friend of mine loves KOF 2000 and hates 2001, while general TNL opinion seems the opposite. Hmmmm...
If Playmore would consider a Slug game that would be great, hell I think they'd only need to see the US website coverage of Ikaruga and TNL's Ikaruga Thread to realize a good DC game will get attention. And I'd say a Slug game is high on the average DC gamer's wish list. Of course that's all it is right now, a wish :P
