Thread: October 2009, 31 Days of Horror Round 2

  1. I've seen Alien more times than I can count, but I'll consider Maximum Overdrive

I've been writing entries for each of these movies to be published this month. Here's the first week.

What about Serial Mom? Wait is serial mom a comedy or horror? Well it is full of win.

  3. You know, I *completely* forgot about Serial Mom.

It's been so long since I've seen it that it's hard to say. It definitely leans more on comedy, but I don't remember it being particularly violent.

  4. It was pretty gory.

    Also: THE BURBS.

  5. Huh. Maybe I should throw Serial Mom in there. I don't think I've seen it since I was... really young.

The Burbs is great! That is one of those movies that my entire family loves.

  6. Could track down a copy of Dumpster Baby. Interesting movie, though the sound quality is for shit...
"I see the world didn't end yesterday."

    "Are you sure?"

  7. Well, Paranormal Activity was pretty fucking scary. It had a few gags went too far The ouiji board catching fire, her demon face at the very end but for the most part it's a slow burn that builds at a nice pace. This campaign they're going on is pretty brilliant, one show a day in one theater a city guarantees a full crowd, and that's by far the best way to watch it.

It's good, and it's affecting and I don't buy into any of that ghost mumbo jumbo

Oh and don't watch the trailer if you haven't already, it ruins what would have otherwise been a pretty great scare Micah getting thrown at the camera, it's the fucking climax of the movie.

  8. Yeah, I liked it a lot. Actually saw it for the second time tonight. First was on Monday and both showings were sold out. It's apparently getting a wider release here in town...not sure about everywhere else.

  9. watched some more stuff

Happy Birthday to Me - lol again

Critters - forgot how rad the 1st movie was, this flick rules

Paranormal Activity- saw this at a cinemark XD theater, which was probably a bad idea for a shaky cam film, as my woman almost hurled. we had to get up and move to the top of the theater. This place was huge, it felt like 2x the size of an imax, and the sound was fucking amazing. all leather reclining seats as well. i mean seriously this was the best theater i have ever screen seen. the only prob was had a bunch of idiots yelling "show me your tits" or "ooh im scared" the whole time during quiet or supenseful moments. also tickets were 12 bucks instead of 8, but it was worth it

  10. I watched Critters last year and was kind of taken aback by how awesome it was.
