After a bit of thought, I decided since it is about to be October horror is the way to go with my movie club pick for this year, so I'm going with what is by far the best horror movie so far this millenium and one of the top horror movies of all time.
First the best short movie description I could find:
The plot focuses on the strange relationship two young boys have with their father who believes that he has been commanded by God to kill demons, and the consequences this belief has after the boys have grown up.
Bill Paxton stars and directs along with Matthew McConaughey who puts in the best performance he has ever made. This is one of those movies I find myself going back to on a yearly basis. The atmosphere is perfect and the twists and turns of the plot are wonderful. Bill Paxton comes off truly scary, which is impressive for someone who is usually seen as the goofy character in movies. Also, the two kids do a fine acting job as well. Truly a great cast.
I don't want to spoil any of the twists for those of you that haven't seen the movie, but let me just say you're in for a real treat. For those of you who have seen the movie, it's well worth watching again to find things that you may have missed before.
As always, I'm not going to be longwinded about this, but instead will let the movie and the following conversation speak for itself.

I just watched this, and was let down. The whole epilogue-type ending was completely unnecessary, and the final reveal made the rest of the movie have less impact, to me. I really liked the set up, but the storytelling could have been better.
