Star Control 2, updated, free

This is great news. Everyone who hasn't played SC2, and I'm guessing that's a load of you, need to follow this. SC2 is one of the single best games ever, PC or console. Killer single player, unmatched multiplayer.

If only they'd given a rough projection of release. Can't have everything, I guess.

I'll second that. I've only played the single player game, but it was really an incredible experience. See? 3DO wasn't so bad.

I finally sold off my 3DO system and games last year when I was cleaning house, and I do so miss Star Control 2 so very much. The voice work in that version is the best acting I've ever heard in a game, and it's a hoot, to boot! Hehe.

Multiplayer SC2 is a blast, too. I remember the summer of '95 well...Chrono Trigger and multiplayer fests of Star Control 2 with my housemates.

Ah, the past is always golden, never to be repeated or experienced in that way ever again. *sniff*
