Thread: Battlefield 2 Complete Collection now on Steam!

  1. Battlefield 2 Complete Collection now on Steam!

The Battlefield franchise finally moves to Steam! BF fans have been waiting for this for a long time and its a perfect time to hop in if youre new. Steam's built in friends joiner and in-game messaging will be a welcome site for sure. No more Xfire. It looks like the Steam version even has the Special Forces spin off included. Now theres no excuse to miss out if you havent tried this game yet.

Battlefield 2 Complete Collection is now available for digital download via Steam (www.store.steampowered.com ) and Direct2Drive (www.direct2drive.co.uk )! It’s been over four years since Battlefield 2 launched and the latest update, version 1.50, is the most comprehensive Battlefield collection ever - all the maps, no patching and no extras to download! Head out to the frontlines of the 21st century with the original Battlefield 2™ plus the Battlefield 2: Special Forces™ Expansion Pack and the Battlefield 2: Euro Force™ and Battlefield 2: Armored Fury™ Booster Packs for FREE.
[Itll be out later today or this week - its not posted on Steam just yet.]

You can add any game you want to Steam, the advantage being that your friends can see you are playing it and join in. But certain companies (such as Valve, obviously) actually allow you to enter in your CD code and tie the game to Steam. This would tie it permantly to Steam so you can get updates through it and download a new copy whenever you need to. It is up to individual companies to implement this however (and I'd guess it isn't for Battlefield 2).

  3. I know that this option wasn't available for Red Alert 3 even after it was released on Steam.
