I think our tastes differ there. I'll take a creative but flawed game over a solid well-worn retread any day.

  3. GOTY? No.

Surprise of the Year? Definitely. Wasn't expecting the effort put into single player at all.

I agree with this. After playing thousands of games over the past three decades, originality and ambition in game design are things I certainly look for. I can still enjoy well-made retreads, though. What I played of NSMB Wii was a lot of fun. I'm definitely going to buy it some time.

  5. It's game of the moment. Game of the year is stupid, like owls that you don't apologize to. It's not like car of the year where there's real measurable criteria.

[Graphics]Um, they're good! Those game people move like they have rigamortis, but it's got lots of pees.

    [sound]I like songs!

[New ideas]It's creative and innovative of playing videogames!

[gameplay]You press buttons and shake a stick!

[Overall] I give it the Game of the Year because i like it the best!
    Donk

  6. [finch] iq of a turnip

  7. [joust williams] nobody likes him but thinks it's everyone else's fault.

It was supposedly his third off-topic post in a row.

  10. I think I've said this here before, but I have a higher opinion of this game during my second playthrough as I aim to get all the star coins and secret exits.
In certain respects, I almost feel like I'm playing a Castlevania game as I press against every wall to see if one of them is going to revival a hidden room behind it. Fun stuff.
