I'm kinda paranoid about the marketplace. I've looked at a lot of new/used books there, and most of the good prices are listed by these huge-volume sellers that don't give any description of the actual item... you never know if you're going to get a book club edition, if it's going to be missing the jacket, if it's going to have remainder markings, etc. I've tried e-mailing a few of these guys and they basically just say that they can't be bothered to check out a particular item.

Granted, a lot of the time these things wouldn't matter a whole lot, but if you're trying to get something nice it can be a pain in the ass.

I guess hearing that refunds are quick and easy helps, though. Maybe I'll try my luck there a bit more often.

I once bought a book and got a script for the play, instead. But otherwise I've had no problems and I even met a local seller who sent me long emails and gave me a lot of attention to make sure I was satisfied with my purchase, and it's great for buying foreign music CDs at Amazon's other sites.
