That's not true. Judging from the various lists posted here, I hereby make a proclamation...

Terminator 2: Judgment Day is hereby noted as the GREATEST FILM OF ALL TIME. Fuck Citizen Kane!

I'm not a devious man by nature... but when you're unarmed, your tactics might gonna be downright Archimedean.

  3. What is with all of this Citizen Kane hate?

  4. Disappointment it wasn't about Kane Hodder?

  7. The Terminator - What a choice for my first R-rated film. My parents went to the theater to see it on a Friday when I was 12, and all they did during the film was tell each other how much I'd like it. I went with my mom the next day, and it blew my mind. This started the trend of my mom & I going to see every Arnie film at the theater Day One, so it has extra meaning for me, especially since my mom passed away.

Commando - I will watch this with regularity when I'm 85. It just screams 80s excess. Arnold kills like a billion people. With apologies to Douglas Quaid, I don't think he ever topped the awesome that is John Matrix. We will never get a film like this again, not close. The writing is genius that hasn't aged one bit....in fact, I think it's gotten better as time goes by. Bennett, with his porn stasche, Aussie accent, chainmail vest, and awesome lines ("Put the knife away and shut you mouth") is the best villain the 80s produced. Geez, this film's gonna be 25 years old next year. Seeing this in the theater with my mom is one of my greatest memories - we beat on each other in delight the whole way through.

The Road Warrior - I think this is the best action film ever made (the climactic tanker truck chase is the highlight). Not a one-trick pony, however, as it also sports the greatest speech in the history of action films, courtesy of The Humungus (just edging Bennett's several Commando gems imo). "Just walk away, and I give you safe passage in the wasteland. Just walk away, and there will be an end to the horror." So awesome.

Along Came Polly - Philip Seymour Hoffman and Alec Baldwin give two of the funniest supporting performances of all time. I watch this when I'm depressed and it always picks me up. Jennifer Aniston manages to not annoy the hell out of me, too....not sure how that happens. Hank Azaria's horrible French accent is hilarious. Ben Stiller's performance has aged (because he plays the same guy every time), but the rest is so good, it doesn't matter. I love this film.

It is one of the more fucked up movies I've ever seen. There is horrible shit just below the surface. Horrible. But there are some awesome songs!

    Also: this.
