    Picked this up for $20 at BB yesterday and am having a complete blast. Cannot understand the Zelda: WW gameplay comparisons (or any other Zelda comparisons) but this is a cool blend of God of War, DMC, and, thematically, Spawn (Heaven v Hell stuff).

    The control scheme is really tight, and as ultra-casual gamer, I'm lovin' it.

    Any word on a sequel or downloadable content (besides avatar crap)?

    A sequel is apparently already in production, though War is not planned to be the main character in the slightest.

  5. the sequel is supposed to star one of the other horsemen of the apocalypse and take place at the same time this one did. or maybe when War was asleep for all that time before the game actually starts.

    Conversely, I can't understand how people don't see the Zelda comparisons when it's a step-by-step recreation of that series with only partial combat resemblance to GoW.

    Interesting that this thread is bumped today, as I was in a bookstore a few hours ago and saw the art book for this. It's so fucking pretty but I had a hard time justifying $40 for it. Joe Mad's style looks so good to me and Darksiders is like a purified version of the stuff of his I like. Was pretty cool seeing all the other horsemen too, I don't recall them being shown close up in the game.

    I can, but only if he hasn't gotten to the area with Tiamat yet. Before you get to that "dungeon" area the game doesn't really feel much like Zelda. If he is past that part I have no idea what he is talking about.

  8. Yep, posted just prior to the Tiamat lvl and now TOTALLY get the Zelda comparisons (here's a new weapon you must use to beat the boss; environmental puzzles, etc).

    Also wanted to chime in on how awesome it is w/the Joker, er, Mark Hamill, doing the voice acting.

  9. I had forgotten that Hamill had voiced that character. He was great in this as usual.
