Thread: Darksiders: Wrath of War

  1. It really is, I'm on my way to the 3rd boss and they continue to throw new gameplay at you. I loved the area on the way to the first boss that was like Panzer Dragoon Orta, that was as fun as it was surprising.

I'm with raystorm on the Soul Reaver vibe, it feels a lot like SR1. I don't want this game to end but I can't stop playing. I've got to try and put it down for a while and make it last. These types of games don't come around too often.

  2. So this is good, huh? Maybe I'll take the plunge this weekend...although it's not easy tearing myself away from Bayonetta.
    "Fiends! Animals! Bastards!"

  3. No, it's much better than good. When you first start playing it seems like it's just an action game but it slowly transforms into a full fledged adventure game that continues to throw new and creative stuff at you.

It's my favorite game this gen by a landslide but I'm a sucker for adventure games. Throw in all the "bad ass" that goes on in this game and it takes it over the top for me.

  4. I would recommend not playing it in alongside Bayonetta. I was at a friend's and checked out DS, but after playing Bayonetta for 2 days straight, it really felt budget. I think it's a fine game in it's own right, and probably becomes a pretty good game after you've acquired more abilities and opened the story/game-world up a bit, but Bayonetta owns it pretty hard in terms of polish and playability.

  5. If you are playing Darksiders as an action game than I guess I can understand what you mean. I played the demo of Bayonetta and it bored me to the point that I didn't bother finishing it. I got tired of DMC after part 1. If you want an action game just play Bayonetta, if you want the most bad ass adventure game we've received in years get Darksiders.

  6. Glass Joe...OR SHOULD I SAY GLASS JOE MADURIERA???

  7. No, I just REALLY love this game. To finally get some great action into an adventure game is a breath of fresh air to the genre. I'm sure the game will bomb since I haven't seen one shred of advertising for it and we'll never get another but it is something not to be missed by adventure fans.

  8. I plan on spending most of tomorrow with it. If you are wrong and it sucks cocks, I have Bayonetta to fall back on. I really do hope you aren't wrong though.

  9. I rented both this and Bayonetta, and have since only played Bayonetta for about 20 minutes. This on the other hand has gotten my full and complete attention.

I'm at Tiamat and I'm kinda stuck. I do the whole throw sticky bombs at her 3 times and detonate em thing, and get her down on the ground where the QTE demands I smack her in the face....but then after that I'm not quite grasping what to do next.

After you smack her down she'll lay there for a few seconds and you just slice n' dice until she recovers, run back and she'll do that qte thing again. Just keep repeating that a few times. At least thats what I did. If anyone has a better way please chime in.
