Thread: Darksiders: Wrath of War

  1. I kinda HATE this part, since aiming sucks , its quite hard to lock on both torche and sticky bombs, while trying to dodge her fireballs. Yeah, she does the patters of 3 attacks and hover, but it still very convoluted to aim for the bombs stuck to her, since they are so small

  2. After beating the second big boss I started to wonder around to look for stuff when all of a sudden an english gentleman ghoul guy came outta nowhere to pick a fight. Gives you decent souls when you beat him. I don't know what that guy is all about at the moment.

  3. The one thing that's worried me is how pedestrian adventure games have become, and how one-track action games have become. Sure they're both doing great things for their respective strengths, but I remember when games could be both action-heavy AND adventure savvy. What we end up with now is killer combat on a straight line (DMC, Bayonetta) or adventure games with a fight every other hour or so (Okami, Zelda). Sounds like Darksiders is a nice compromise?

  4. I don't have a problem with the aiming. The game insists that you master the controls and it will kick your ass until you do. As for Tiamat, knock her out of the sky with the bombs, avoid the dive bombing, then knock her out of the sky with bombs again. After that you just battle her on the ground.

  5. Game looks like fun, but the character design looks fucking horrendous.
    Where I play

  6. With some practice, got thorough the boss just fine. Actually aiming right and sticking the bomb right into her maw, preventing her from firing was fucking badass. Game's awesome.

Also, I LOVE character designs, I don't see what so horrendous about them?

What do you find wrong with them? As much as Batman:AA was my favourite game last year, I would have liked them to use art like this instead of the plastic look of Unreal Engine 3 graphics.

I love the art direction of this game.

    Yup.

It starts off and you're thinking "God of War", and it continues this way for a little while. Then you hit the first "dungeon" and you start thinking "Zelda."

Possible good news for those of us who fit into the second category:

Over at some other forum, a developer mentioned the possibility of a PC port:
One of our points to discuss (other than DLC) is a PC version. Originally we had one planned, then we changed our minds, then it came back, and then went again. As there's been a lot of people asking for a PC version, we need to confer with THQ if a PC would be beneficial to put out there.
Here's hoping that they actually do this. I'd like to play the game but Joust said it runs at 30fps and I'm pretty much used to 60fps in my neo-brawlers at this point.

No offense here but this is one of the dumbest reasons I've ever read for not wanting to play a game.

Here is an interview done by Dave Halverson. I know he always goes way overboard on the hype train but in this case, he is right on point. http://www.playmagazine.com/index.ph...contentid=1990

  10. Man, for me holy shit moment was when: Heavy armored angel shows up, you rip the Gatling cannon off him, and proceed to blow shit up Terminator style across the level, while competing with Fat Bastard who gets more angel kills.

The path to the 2nd boss gets quite puzzle heavy.
