Considering you're spending 300 dollars on a non-retard 360 (more if you bought earlier in the lifecycle) why not just spend that 300 on a graphics card when you buy your PC? You chose a console over a graphics card - which is fine - just don't complain that PC gaming is cost prohibitive while you're spending the same amount on your PC/Console as you would a gaming PC.
    1. $800 is a lot of money.
    2. I am actually spending $0 on my 360. Because I already own it.

  2. And you bought it for at least 300 unless you got it used. Your argument makes no sense, you're typing your message on a computer that cost you more than 0 and you play your games on something that cost you more than 0. I thought you were the math expert?

EDIT - My brother is still using my 4 year old hand me down mid range LAPTOP i bought for 900 and it can run everything - not at full granted, but certainly as good as the 360.

  3. Maybe I am overlooking it all, but I don't see many people complaining about the price of PC gaming, as much as they just don't care enough to spend the money for it. I have a 360, therefore I do not need to spend any more money on it. I built a PC gaming rig after I got the 360. That was 5 years ago. The thing needed upgrades and I didn't really care enough to spend the money on upgrading it when I have more important things to spend money on or things I would rather spend money on.

The money I spent on the 360 is a sunk cost. That money is spent and not coming back. However, $800 I would spend on a PC would be money coming out of my pocket now.

If I didn't own a 360 or a PC, then I would decide if the additional $500 is worth spending on a PC.

  5. God I hate PCs.

  6. I think he's just saying when you buy a PC as you inevitably will it's only like an extra 20% to get one that plays games well. Basically that non-gaming PCs are the tard pack.

Which is fair, but I think it's really the fact that people gravitate toward laptops and netbooks and don't have real PCs anymore.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. Most of the gamers I know who used to have pretty good rigs five years ago have for the most part bought notebooks and stick to their 360s. Not saying that applies to everyone, but it happens.

Yeah that's all I was saying. I can see Netbooks really eating away at that segment of the market, but laptop GFX cards are fairly reasonable these days. The problem with a good laptop card is you usually have to go overkill on the rest of the specs too which can drive up costs.

THANKS FOR BRINGING THIS UP GUY! NOT ENOUGH OF THIS DISCUSSION IN GAME THREADS IMO. GREAT POST!

  10. So there's a huge thread on the Brink forums about the 360 game's lag:

Still waiting for the mailman to deliver my tard copy, but I am expecting the worst.
