Thread: DIY game posters

  1. Is the major draw in these having original artwork in poster size, or just having a poster of your fav games up?

I ask because I wanted to do a series of illustrations kinda along these lines, but dunno if it would pull any interest.

OT: I want that PS2 poster! Frog, you do a damn good job on cleanup and resizing! It's impressive.

I'm not making any rules here. If you think others might enjoy it, put it out there.

By the way, I ordered my prints from PosterXXL. 15x20s are real cheap, but larger prints get a little pricey. I can't vouch for their quality until I get them tomorrow, though.

  3. Any idea where to look for 15x20 frames?

I haven't printed anything like this (yet) but I've got a minus print I bought from rezo a little while ago that size that I really want to frame.

That sort of thing might even be vectorizable.

The resolution is pretty good on this, but the image itself (not the scan) seems a little blurry and there's not a ton I can do about that while also trying to descreen the halftone pattern. Here's my attempt. It's not bad but I wouldn't blow it up too huge.

Timber- check out craft stores for larger frame sizes. Around my parts we have a Michaels and a Hobby Lobby and they can both do custom oversized framing. It isn't cheap though.

  9. I found a nice 15x20 frame at...either Kohl's or Office Max. Forgot which. BUT! If all else fails, look for a local art supply store - they usually do custom frames competitively priced to hobby shops.

  10. If somebody could blow up some of the rad amano art/poster for FFVI(J) I'd love them forever.
