Glad to see avatar didn't win. Though I wasn't all that thrilled with Hurt Locker. Basterds or even Up were better IMO. At least Cameron didn't win for his cgi cartoon.

The Blind Side was completely worthless and forgettable except for her. She was genuinely good in it. Oscar worthy? I dunno, who deserved it more? Maybe they should just rename Best Actress to Best Meryl Streep Performance of the Year.
I'm actually watching Mary and Max now, I'll let you know what I think about it. Right now though I would disagree with you and would put Coraline and Cloudy above it.
We probably don't care.
Don't care at all.
The way they did best actor/actress last night was torturous. Jesus Christ, it was a marathon of ego massage. Jeremy Renner's was funny though "Remember when we were in SWAT??? Movie sucked, lol" Should have gotten his co-star from Senior Trip.
The Oscars were about as entertaining as they always are... not very. Way predictable this year, I think I called everything except Foreign Language, thought The White Ribbon was a shoe in there. The horror montage was okay, if a bit predictable. Evil Dead 2 was in there!
*Edit - Oh, I saw The Hurt Locker over the weekend. I rather enjoyed it. The argument that it doesn't have a plot has merit, but I think that it didn't really need to be bogged down by a cut and dry overarching plot. It was more of a character study, I suppose. The tense scenes were ruined for me thanks to a piece on All Things Considered I listened to (ASSHOLES), and I just constantly expected everyone to blow up, so when shit blew up, I wasn't that surprised.
I saw 7 out of the 10 nominees this year (Missed Serious Man, An Education, and The Blind Side), and of those I would give it to Inglourious Basterds, I thought it got shafted on screenplay, to be honest. I enjoyed Up and Up in the Air more than The Hurt Locker, but I can see why it won. Better than last year's winner.
