I read some of the links off that, I think Miyazaki seems more interested in making sure Ghibli remains a quality studio than worrying about the money. Talent shapes up to his standards or no more studio. I'd need a better translation to know for sure, though.

So who saw this?

I liked it, though I didn't like it nearly as much as Ponyo. Really there's not a lot to say, it's a strong Ghibli film, but it lacks some of the incredible scenes such as the ocean scene in Ponyo. I don't think it's as good looking either, but it was still enjoyable. ALSO ASSHOLES STARTED LEAVING BEFORE IT WAS OVER WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. ALSO AFROS, DON'T SIT IN FRONT OF ME.

I want to fly to Colorado so that I can enjoy this film with Finch. Thief can come too, but he has to go get the popcorn when we run out halfway through the movie.

It was pretty good! It was one of the lower-key films, but that's okay sometimes.

The lack of Dinky and Grandpa Little was slightly disappointing, I MUST SAY.

Loved the fuck out of it. Way better than everything since Howls. Which isn't to say that other stuff was bad, but Borrowers was really fucking well done and visually stunning.

Watch this channed a while ago. I liked it, but agree it doesn't measure up to the best Ghibli stuff.
