Thread: This Just In: Nintendo Doesn't Get It

And Nintendo didn't focus all their effort marketing Mario is Missing. Wii Fit is Nintendo's biggest game now. An "exercise" game that doesn't help you get in shape.
I wouldn't say you were wrong that Nintendo games aren't especially challenging, but were they ever? I don't remember them being that hard, even when I was growing up. And no matter how annoying their lazy visual designs and asset re-using is, their games are just as well designed as ever.

I wouldn't say you're especially wrong Joust. But I would say you act like a whiny pre-adolescent on the internet, when you are probably a full-grown man older than me.

Who is kiddier, you or Nintendo?

  2. They weren't bear tough, but yes, they are easier.

Most games, however, are harder than before. Go play Doom again. Compared to the shooters out now, it's a cake walk on anything but Nightmare (well, some UV levels can be hard too)

Almost all games are easier than they used to be now. I really don't think Nintendo is the main offender. Maybe I just suck, but the Wii Mario Kart with classic controls is harder than any other Mario Kart I've played. Zelda...was never especially hard. Mario Sunshine and Galaxy were probably more challenging than most other games at the time, if you wanted to complete them.

And more than anyone, Nintendo has avoided turning their games into interactive movies, which I think deserves some kind of praise. Kind of balances things out.

Man, some of you really enjoy wallowing in what you perceive to be stupidity. "Oh god, someone is posting things I think are stupid. Lets reply to him and talk to him as much as possible. I love talking to stupid people."
Take it to Fight Club, or let it go. Seriously. Nobody is amused.

Shake It fell on the easier side, but I don't recall WL4 being too easy. The boss fights were, but I thought the levels themselves were rather solid. It's been a while, though.

Is everyone who disagrees with you stupid by default? Sounds like a rather convenient state of mind.

  5. Do you have a Steam ID, Gamertag or PSN ID so we can see what games you don't play?

  6. No, yes, and haven't gotten around to it.

  7. I'd say New Super Mario Bros Wii is harder on average than SMW or Yoshi's Island, and by a decent margin.

Yoshi's Island DS is probably their most sadistic platformer since SMB2J.

Kirby Canvas Curse gets kinda insane, especially earning Rainbow Run medals.

Punch-Out Wii gets pretty hard by the last circuit, and gets much harder still on the second playthough.

Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents becomes tough shit, then if you beat that there's an even more insane difficulty. Unfortunately you have to suffer through a cakewalk normal difficulty to unlock the tough stuff.

A lot of games in Rhythm Heaven are NUTS, and the unlockables require nothing less than perfection in a specifically ordained game on command, and with only a couple of tries to do it.

Fire Emblem may not be at the retarded challenge level set by Thracia 776, but it can still get damn challenging. I hear the Wii one in particular starts out pretty unforgiving.

Earning platinum medals in DK Jungle Beat can be pretty crazy.

Advance Wars recently got rid of the CO Powers that could make the game far easier if used right (though they weren't really that easy with 'em, either).

Mariokart Wii has some pretty goddamn nutso requirements for unlocking many of its characters.

Plus games like Twilight Princess, Paper Mario TTYD, and Mario & Luigi BIS, while not particularly hard on average (though they have their moments), have optional enemy gauntlets that are long, tough as balls, and don't allow saves.

...In short, much ado about nothing. Notorious Nintendo haters spring on opportunity to talk shit about Nintendo and push aside context, film at 11.

Metroid Prime doesn't count, does it? That shit was outsourced.

You're right. Two leaders of a billion dollar videogame company saying that it's wrong for anyone enjoy videogames for a certain aspect is certainly nothing of consequence, and the only people who could possibly disagree with that opinion are notorious Nintendo haters.

    You're right.
