I discovered this show when I went to England for a post-graduation trip completely by accident. Typically when I travel and I'm in a hotel for the evening I will watch TV just to see the differences and unique things about the cultue, especially abroad. When I clicked on Channel 4 that evening with my brother as my girlfriend was off taking a shower on the other side of the hotel, Peep Show came on and proceeded to knock me off my feet with how outrageously funny it is.

A lot is made of British sitcoms, like The IT Crowd (which I don't like) or The Office (The US is better), but Peep Show is head and shoulders above any brit-com that I've seen. The first season is a little hit or miss, especially the early episodes, but it hits its stride late in the season and never lets down.

Nope, the first episode is really the worst one. The whole first person thing is way overdone in the beginning, it's jarring.

It also has a shitty theme song in the first series that's replaced by the more appropriate "Flagpole Sitta"

I spent five happy years in the scouts and never once - alright, Layton was a bit of a pedo, but not in a bad way. Just boosting you over the climbing wall, making you run around the camp in your pants... it was old-style pedoing. Before it got such a bad name.

I hate this stupid fucking show, Mr-K. It's not funny! It's depressing. Every. Single. Episode. You watch them build something up that could better their lives... then right at the fifteen minute mark, they tear it all to shit! I walk away from every episode feeling like shit. It was funny at first, but now all I can think about is how depressing the whole show is and their miserable little lives are. Can we not have one episode end on an up note? Fuck.
