  1. If you usually take whiskey with ice try it neat. Once you get used to it you will never water it down.

I've been making some Manhattans too. My recipe is 2oz rye or bourbon (the Ritt is kick ass for this), 1/2 oz sweet vermouth (Antica Formula Carpano Vermouth, don't use the cheapest Rossi shit), 1/2oz brandy, 2 dashes angostura bitters, and a luxardo cherry (they are black as night, all other cherries bow down). combine with 3 ice cubes in a shaker, stir don't shake, strain into a glass and add the cherry.

  2. Look what I found. Good suggestion trying it neat. Tons of things going on here. Cinnamon.

  3. lol That stuff is the shit but it costs $80 a bottle!

I just checked mine, that's the edition I have - 126.6. Haven't gotten to mine yet, it's still sealed.

  4. I took a quart of vodka, dumped it in a plastic bag, dropped 2 sage sprigs in, and sealed it in the chamber vac.

Cooked it at 63º C for 30 minutes. Then into an ice bath in the bag.

The resulting liquid was so unbelievably sage-flavored it couldn't be sipped. Like, Doc Farnsworth's Old Time Sage Tincture strong.

It's more a proof of concept than anything, but it worked like a bad motherfucker.
    Boo, Hiss.

I hate that ice ends up watering down scotch and whiskey but I love my drinks cold. There's those plastic ice cubes which I've tried before in non-alcoholic drinks but they never seem to actually work in the slightest.

    SCIENCE, WHERE IS MY SOLUTION?

  7. I feel like my next paycheck will be very alcohol based. It's probably for the best.

  8. The solution is don't be a pussy

  9. Siberian Kiss - Beet/Rosemary infused vodka served hot.
