Thread: Mad Max: Fury Road

  1. He's reaching a Sidney Lumet golden years.

I saw this at Alamo Drafthouse and Miller and Toecutter (as he was credited) shot a bit for them where Toecutter threatens the audience if you use your phone or talk during the show and Miller politely asks him to tone it down.

Keays-Byrne is such an awesome dramatic actor, I hope he gets another larger than life role soon.

There's a lot of color correction going on but the effects themselves didn't look CGI to me. Without even knowing anything about the production I said to my girlfriend how little appeared to be cgi.

I think that decision really paid off in the action itself. It feels very immediate in a way CGI often can't.

  3. I just attended the show today. There were very few moments where I thought I was seeing CGI (the storm being one area) and only noticing a few CGI objects like the steering wheel being pulled out the window. I was pretty impressed with the movie.

  4. I saw this movie opening weekend, but I guess I forgot to post in here.
I thought I saw some funky flames coming out of a car, it looked like a three-frame construction paper animation, but I guess I was just out of it.
I went to the knockoff imax rpx showing at the Regal cinema and tried to get a poster from the ticket person, but they were only giving them to 3D viewers, even though i paid more for the rpx. I didn't press it because it's just a poster.

The rpx showing kind of sucked. The projector bulb was really bright and cast a shadow over the seats. It was like watching a movie with the light on in the next room. I would not go to another rpx showing.

I didn't notice the mouth open.
The movie was fun, I'd like to see it again in a theater.

I caught up on the old movies the week before, and Toecutter is the very best part of Mad Max. I'm glad the actor made it back.
Why are you reading this? go to your general settings and uncheck the Show Signatures box already!

  5. Maybe I'll go see this tonight. I def. want to see it in a theater.

  6. Why do you think David Lynch wrote that?

  9. This might be the most metal movie ever made. Complete blast from start to finish, top tier film making. A lot of impressive design and execution.
