holy fuck has today been a long day.

I was up late last night clearing up a paper with cheebs. Then the person I'm going with wanted to get a different hotel, so I had to go online and find out out of the 100s in Atlanta. This put me going to sleep at 3 am.

Got up at 8 am and had to do some basic work on my car. Tires need to be checked and I was going to install new spark plugs as I recall a cylinder missing last week when I drove home.

But I couldn't find the right socket, so I had to go barrow one. And then I couldn't find my GPS.

Two or so weeks ago I moved, so I figured it was in with that stuff. Yep, someone shoved in a box of canned food. Yes, that is where GPS units go. With canned corn.

While putting in new spark plugs, my freind realized noticed that the distrubuter cap was fucked, so we had to go get a new one along with a new button.

I get a shower and then we hit the road.

Thank god I had planned to leave early in case of mishaps.

OH, but there is more!

When getting to Birmingham, my car loses like 30% of its torque. This is something very much needed in Alabama. And the rpm cage starts to vibrate back and forth.

I take it easy until we get out of Birmingham. We check the transmission fluid and come to find out, some fucking son of a bitch has put a whole bottle of fucking motor oil in my transmission fluid.

We stop at a autozone and get some transtune. It helps a lot and we go about our way.

By the time we get to the hotel, I have 30 minutes to get to the show. I check in and leave. I'm by myself at this point.

gps antenta falls in the floor board. I have to wait to till a red light to pick it back up. I miss my turn by 3 blocks.

FINALLY PARK, FINALLY GET TO THE TABERNACLE.

beers are 6 a can, 10 a tall. I go to the balcony beacuse all the good floor space is gone. Fucking Live nation wants me to pay 54 more dollars to set on the "reserved balcony." I go and join the floor. I can barely see because apparently tall people like to be freinds and get in little groups and stand in the middle of the floor. Fuckers.

Acoustics of the show were pretty good. Pretty much everyone was amazing. I really enjoyed what I could see of it. It is really cool watching just how many things john paul jones can play. guitar/lapsteel, 4,6,8 string basses, piano, mandolin, keytar, whatever. The crowd was pretty mixed. Everything from mothers to weeners with north face on. Even a couple real rockers and metal guys. I got the feeling a lot of people came because of their previous work and not so much their current album. But most people seemed to enjoy it.

When the show got out I headed to Varsity as it is right up the street. Sadly it was closed. But crap if the size of it is not impressive. They have an insanely large building and parking lot for downtown Atlanta.
