    What?

Someone usually calls time after a play, but if not, the runner can advance at any time.

Fuck. I heard that wrong. Now I'm even more sick to my stomach.

You know, this could be the move that makes Bud Selig's career as well. Right now Bud Selig is viewed as a freaking weenie, and one of the worst commissioners in the history of baseball. Nothing but stupid shit has happened on his watch. If he steps in, sets this shit straight, and gives Galaragga the perfect game, that he rightfully deserves, then Selig would be viewed in a completely different light.

Instead, I bet you that we hear nothing from the weenie about this at all.

Man, as a Yankees fan who hates all Detroit sports... I still feel so fucking angry at the ump and bad for Armando 30 minutes later.

I'm so glad this wasn't my team.

You know who I feel bad for? Ken Griffey Jr. He's been overshadowed by so many controversies not involving him throughout his career. So what happens when he decides to retire? An umpire makes one of the worst calls ever.

Armando Gallaraga: The first pitcher ever to retire 28 straight in a single game.

  5. ^ This is how I feel. I'm a Dodger fan, living in SoCal. I couldn't give two shits about Detroit Tiger's baseball. However, I consider myself to be a fan of THE GAME. So, this is very upsetting to me....

At the same time though, yeah, I'm a little worried that I'm still upset about this 30 minutes later as well. I refuse to turn the channel on my T.V., until I AT LEAST hear an apology from Jim Joyce. This is absurd.

I had a bet on the Mets in a 1-0 game in the 8th, and the Yankees up on Detroit and I still refuse to change it from MLBN

  7. Not true. Pitchers have carried PGs into extras.

As for the "play" thing, I realize that, but what happens if someone picks the ball off the ground, and an out is initially called? The runner on 1st has to go back to first but the batter can't go to first to in dispute of the call because then one of those two players is out. Do you give the runner that was on first 1 base or two?

Unless that's a risk you have to take...I don't know.

Oh shit, Pedro did it in the 90s, didn't he?

edit---pedro gave up a hit to the first batter in the 10th. Only Haddix has done it.

  9. Also, gotta say, Armando Galarraga showed a lot of class in this situation. It was very classy of him not to argue the call; he just smiled and kept on pitching. I know that I wouldn't have been able to hold my composure in that situation....

...I wouldn't mind seeing a pitcher with his demeanor on the Dodgers

I almost wished Detroit walked off and forfeited.
