I completely agree. That's the rub. I don't trust the government either, but I also don't trust the average Joe on the street to know what's best for the country. Imo, that's why certain people get elected into public office, so they can speak for the average Joe and work for the greater good of the municipality/state/country/etc.

Also if things were done well then we wouldn't have to have leaked documents.

And of course as always Anon goes way to fucking far with their shit.
I think Anon is retarded. I don't think any of these attacks has a lick to do with Wikileaks and does more harm to the ideals. Anon benefits the government more than anyone else, because they can use it to justify why Wikileaks is a bad organization (even though there's no affiliation).

But freedom of information isn't a matter of opinion. When the government is given a blank check to run roughshot over American freedoms abuse is rampant. These wikileak cables prove that factually. Unless you think allowing private companies the rights to pimp out Iraqi children to pedophiles a bad thing, there is only one stance to take.

Anon isn't Wikileaks. This is the harm it's doing. People who don't get it lump the idiot anarchists in with the good. Same thing happens in protests (Toronto G20 is all too familiar to me). Cops let a few retards smash windows and burn cop cars and use it as an excuse to round everyone up and trample on the right to public assembly.

lol @ Anon. That's pretty funny though.

We had all of the information needed to form a credible stance on the issues. Assange reveals information about government. Government makes accusations of rape of girls who bragged about nailing him over Twitter. Proper summons and legal process not undertaken. What you do is take the damage control stance avoiding most evidence until it overburdens.

When you take too long to aim at your target it gets away.

If so, then there shouldn't be anything wrong with some information being withheld from the public.
Thief already made this argument. The privacy of individuals is more important than the privacy of government. What I do is with my own life and my own self-made cash is nobodies business unless I'm suspected of murdering people or something that affects everyone else. The government represents you. When they do something backhanded, dishonorable, and deceitful they do it in your name (with your money). You might as well have filled up a wagon full of little boys and wheeled them in to the Iraqi police department to be raped yourself. ESPECIALLY so if you support it.

I believe some things should be secret. Military attacks and ongoing campaigns, the names and any information that could put peoples lives in danger. But this? All this is doing is exposing the actions of the United States - mostly for the interests of giant corporations for the intention of profit (not good - and remember profit and good aren't mutually exclusive).
