In any case, I was hoping for a new 3D Sonic. I love 2D for almost all my favorite genres, but Sonic's just shown to be more fun in 3D then he was in 2D, so I want a new game, dammit.

Sega does not make $5 off of any of those "exclusive" games that someone picks up from the bottom of the bargain bins. More or less, Ebay merchants are probably keeping the profits, making themselves more and more fat from the money they make. I'm rather disappointed by this news...not only have two of the DC's killer apps now lost their DC exclusivity, but Sonic Team have begun to descend into the depths of developmental mediocrity by continually rehashing their past efforts, rather than trying something new. Why couldn't they work on a new Sonic , NiGHTs or Burning Rangers game, or maybe even create a new franchise? You'd think something along those lines would sell much better than a cheap port of something Sega's long term fans have already played to death, wouldn't you?
Then eventually we'll be getting some new games... Sonic or otherwise.
