I am with yeller, the powers of DC don't lend themselves well to a fighting game outside of a select few characters.

I don't understand this argument that "DC powers wouldn't translate well." Is it because Capcom spent so much time painstakingly recreating the Marvel characters in realistic ways, like the uncanny reproduction of Cyclops's Gene Splice uppercut (remember that from the comics?) and the way the Hulk can jump into space, grab an asteroid, and smash it down on your head.
You guys are idiots, all Capcom did was give the Marvel dudes Darkstalker-style over-the-top moves that are marginally related to their "powers". They could easily do the same for DC.
And arguing that MK vs. DC is bad because of the source material (DC) is saying that Capcom fighting game characters are no good in a fighting game because of SvC, the worst modern fighting game ever made, bar-none.

Look at Green Lantern. His power is to make literally anything he can imagine. The MK team squandered that, giving him the most pedestrian constructs they could possibly have thought of. Hand that same potential over to Capcom, and the result would be magical. He'd be blasting the opponent with a laser cannon, running them over with a semi truck, dropping an Acme brand anvil on them, slicing them up with a Scottish Claymore, and trampling them under the feet of a green elephant... all in the space of two and a half seconds.
EDIT: speaking of magical, WTF is up with this game having two Doctor Strange villains (counting the Jill/SG DLC), but not the good doctor himself? Talk about a character Capcom would have a field day with...

With Marvel, everybody is "human, plus A Thing", for the most part. Rarely you get a Thor or something; over in DC, it's God Man All The Time, and the exception is the human dudes. One set mixes slightly better with "karate, plus fireballs".
I'm open to counter-arguments (^besides HURRR^), but I have never seen Green Lantern's powers actually work outside of a comic, where you can just have a different whatever in every panel. Live action/animation/whatever, the power has to be all "wheeerooooop BOXING GLOVE weeeororrrrp FLYSWATTER" and it is the worst thing. Most of the Marvel powers can work on a screen; DC stuff is like "fly around the world 30 times and then time has gone back three days", doesn't translate to a fighting game*.

I don't see how more human chracters fit better into an insane Vs. game.
Speaking of Green Lantern, the plain stuff like boxing gloves are mainly Hal Jordan. Kyle Rayner was out of control, he has fought inside a green anime mech and even tossed out a pokeball.
It's stupid to think the creative team at Capcom would have a tougher time with DC characters. If you want to talk shit about "fucking nerds" let's start with the guy saying costumed super heroes from different companies that contantly rip each other off are sooo different. Human plus a thing, lawl. Peter Parker is human plus a set of a million spider powers! Holy shit, you're right, it works so well!
