But doesn't MastaCJ just use a PS3 pad?
It was an issue with games recently. I made a thread and a mod told me they're allowed. Some people even have enhanced controllers so they can do funky shit. I had no idea any of this existed until catching up last night.

Yeah, button mapping is really stupid and scrubby. And yes, you CAN do zero combos on a pad without button mapping, I have a friend who can rock all that shit (including guilty gear shit, which is 100 time harder) on pad. I was explaining it in the SC thread, but button mapping single-handedly turned a character from ok to super boring god tier only character played. It's alot weirder than you think, the way the game handles multiple buttons doing the same input. Most games don't account for it well. Oh, and the fact that you can use two buttons for a single attack to do buster combos is the lamest thing I have ever heard, takes all of the mild mild challenge out of doing them.
But, we live in a different era of fighting games now. Glad I stopped going to tournaments.

I totally use r2 for my dashes and supers.
Boo, Hiss.
This is the new generation of things. It doesn't bother me online at all, but I could see losing at a tournament and thinking "well that's silly".

Is it really that much easier to hit one button than two? I don't see the big deal aside from the SC thing.
Judging from the turn this thread has taken it might be the most important thing ever.
Try the new ROM combo with a mapped dash button. Your world is going to change. I mean, I can't blame people for mapping KKK or PPP for SSF4 if you're on a pad because there's no other way to get it consistently but when you're mapping throws and focus? Fuck you.
I had a conversation about this with a former MvC2 player and he was right. If you mapped that and tried to do ROM in MvC2 it's almost impossible to miss. It takes all the challenge out of combos.
