I know a lot of people hate it, but I got one of those MvC3-NGPC controllers to try out for when my wife goes to sleep and I can't use the stick.
It was cheap.

Played about 20 games with a solid 5th Lord and was giving him some occasional trouble which makes me happy.
I got a headset today so we were talking about characters and how to beat each others fighting styles. It's the first time I've ever actually spoken to someone in an internet game. I'm of the assumption most interactions aren't this civil.
I actually quite like the Clicky MvC3 Pad. If the "joystick" was a little more rigid in its motions it'd be damn near perfect for me - but that sponginess throws off some moves.
