I do hate the game.
Don't play. You'd be wasting your time, anyway.
I just don't think you'll be good at a fast-paced fighter. But yeah this game isn't the greatest. Maybe if there is a disc update it'll make it much more palpable.
I haven't been around this thread lately but last I checked, you are super-versed at this game, so I'm surprised you hate it. In some ways, I guess I am, because I used to play every day, every break and then some with friends, but after a while, we just couldn't care about it anymore. The DHC glitch, Fucking Dog and a bunch of other things.
It's also mainly because we play with a complete scrub that thinks he's amazing at the game and then I trounce him with 100 hit/3OTG Doom combos.
It's like I love the game but I also really fucking hate it at the same time. It's a pretty common feeling, apparently.
MvC2 separated the boys from the men, imo. That's when it went out of control and if you weren't fast with reactions you'd get rolled. It wasn't just you, either. The OG SF players had problems, too. They did well through raw talent but just couldn't hang later in the game's life. I was shitty in MvC because for a vs. game it felt slow but MvC2 was the speed I was looking for. It's the reason I picked up A3 easier, too. Slow shit just bores me.
I just wanted to get back into the scene. It sucks I got dead last at the major I went to because I quit, because I really wanted to know how I fared against all these east coast players, but what can ya do. I still play but haven't joined a tournament since. Maybe in a couple of weeks I'll go to Guard Crush.
Wat? MvC2 players were incredibly social. It's how everyone got good very fast. You have an actual aspergers stricken player who plays SF4 and he's actually good at it. That's a true game for 'tards.
Yeah yeah yeah. You should go to Guard Crush! More people here should actually be playing these games live. Going to play XIII and AE this Sunday over at SouthTown, it'd be good to see more people I actually know on the streams.
Guard Crush is just uncomfortable due to the blistering heat in the back room. The projector also sucks because it lags. It's also in a part of Brooklyn that's far as FUCK. I may still go, though.
