2 "Fucks" before the title card pops up? I guess they're making a statement. It was pretty rad, but I'm more excited for when shit starts getting less real (Kano redeye, Quan Chi, robot fights). I can't believe we're only getting one episode per week for the next 9 weeks.
Can you dig it?
It was really cool (dug the Kano red eye/Cyrax foreshadowing), but considering that there's only a limited number of episodes coming this season, I wish more had happened in this week's episode and that maybe it had ended on a more exciting note. Sonya's super slow-mo escape ate up a good minute or so, and when your episode is only 12+ minutes long, that's a lot of wasted time.
Oh, and it's nice to see that the late, great Trevor Goddard's Australian Kano legacy is alive and well.

What an embarrassing project. No point breaking it down since they only people that have seen it will be irrationally enthusiastic about it. Wasted time on such short episodes is by far the biggest offender.
They need to take some extra consideration for their lighting and Jeri Ryan's face. She's starting to look like Willem Dafoe.

I don't think this first episode was the best showcase of everything they're going to do, but since all of the episodes tie together chronologically, I guess they HAD to show this first. I would've shown the entire 2-parter as the first episode though, and just done 8 instead of 9.
I leave it on there so if I make some bizarre spelling error, I have an excuse.
Not gonna lie, I was pretty let down by the first episode.
That being said, I have a feeling when it's all said and done I'll get what I want from it, so I'm excited for next week.
