  2. That's the first thing of theirs that's looked really good!

  3. I played the first episode of Sam and Max a couple weeks ago. It was kinda boring. Ben There, Dan That is like the only good adventure game I've played in a long time.

They're doing that, too, it's called Puzzle Agent.

I get the feeling that these people are so excited to see new adventure games that they ignore the fact that the writing just isn't there.
Sam & Max are pretty tough characters to write. I feel like they did a much better job at capturing Monkey Island's sense of humor than Sam and Max's. Also the new voice for Max is just so not as good, but that's not really the main thing since they worked fine on a comic book page before we ever heard their voices.

    You haven't played Machinarium, then.

EDIT: Can we get auto-merge back already?

Yeah, I remember. I wasn't very interested because of the Layton-puzzle focus instead of traditional adventure stuff but it's promising.

The sequel is pretty awesome too!

    YES

You're right, I haven't. I think I saw some pre-release stuff for it and then completely forgot about it.

I bought the first two seasons of Sam and Max on Steam when they were on sale for like $15, still trying to work up the effort to move on to episode 2.

  9. Sam and Max does get better as it goes on. The second half of the first season and most of the second season are much stronger than the first few eps.

But fucking play Machinarium. Especially if you like The Neverhood.

  10. 2's better than 1 (although still nothing spectacular), 3's better than 2, Tales is better than all three.

And Machinarium is ~ wonderful ~
