Thread: Official Nintendo 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, "New" 3DS, & "New" 2DS XL Thread.

  1. Launch lineup is pretty weak, but as others have said so has been just about every launch of the last few generations. I'm personally really waiting for Kid Icarus, OoT, Resident Evil, and Star Fox. Hopefully all of those are actually out this year/next few months like they've said.

Be careful with using R4 cards and such. Supposedly the system logs everything and knows when a rom cart like the R4s is being used. So far no one knows what Nintendo is going to do with that info, but just thought I would let you know.

Gamecube's launch was great. Rogue Squadron, Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, and Super Monkey Ball are still fantastic today. That and the Dreamcast have had the only appetizing launch lineups that I can recall.

GBA was good as well with Circle of the Moon, Krazy Racers, F-Zero, etc.

The PSP and PS2 were essentially Ridge Racer.

Shit you're right, I'd forgotten those were all launch games. I take it back; Gamecube had a great launch, I just bought the wrong game (Tony Hawk).

Doesn't count. They were all unplayable until the sp.

You could say the same about the 360 and PS3 as well.

Stick to your guns. No need to buy a 3DS today. Prior to this I only had the DS Fat, never upgraded a Lite or DSi so a 3DS is able to serve me in this respect. Ridge Racer 3DS is underwhelming, stick with the PS3 game. Ghost Recon is nice, Pro Evolution is nice, but not Day One titles. Nothing out there is a Day One title and supply does not (yet) seem to be limited.

RE Mercenaries would do it for me, however.

  8. I would love a Picross 3DS... I have been addicted to the DS game.

  9. I didn't like Picross 3D. Picross literally 3D might be cool though.

  10. I haven't been following the R4/3DS compatibility yet (not having a 3DS and all) but I'm hoping they crack the thing wide open. First region-locked Nintendo handheld coincides with my first interest in a piracy device for a Nintendo handheld. I'd rather pay money but I'm not losing any sleep over it.
