Ghost Riding now implies manipulation of both space AND time.
Also moms.
Ghost Rider is one of my fave characters honestly. GR2 is actually pretty decent. not great by any means. Idris Elba is great as a drunk priest. The kid isn't annoying as Danny Ketch,Nick Cage is absurd. There is a scene where he is interrogating a guy, and its ridiculous. I think making the movie pg-13 destroyed most of its intended awesomeness, but it was okay.
Idris Elba is a great actor. Why in the hell is he doing all these worthless comic book movies?
He wants ta git paid.

Ugh, had to see this in 3D because in the theater I went to that was ALL THEY HAD.
It's not even like it used it well, it just was there. Such a terrible gimmick that I wished Hollywood dropped. Anyway, despite the movie having problems like....well....bad acting (Danny, Nic Cage, Blackout actor), and cliched dialogue I still somehow managed to enjoy it. It had a cool grungy style to the characters/locales and the action + special effects were definitely worth seeing. I've seen other people rail on Idris's acting being weak in this movie but I actually thought he was the strongest part of the movie.
Nic Cage here was mostly hit and miss, sometimes he seemed like he was putting some actual effort such as when he was bonding with Danny while in other scenes he looked like he was channeling a performance similar to his other over the top films. Plus his face and hair just look distracting at this point in his career, he just looks old and creepy nowadays. GR needs a young John Blaze not some near 50 aged dude. Still his performance wasn't horrible, just kind of all over the place but I do think his John Blaze was better in the first GR movie despite the fall back Nic Cage southern accent.
I think there's potential here to make a pretty awesome sequel using Danny Ketch and an older Nick Cage in a sort of mentor figure but I was a little taken back by the whole blue flame thing at the end as I was hoping for that to be reserved for Danny Ketch if there were ever a sequel planned. The reason I say that is that in the comics recently Danny Ketch has a different look as Ghost Rider seen here:

But Marvel keeps fucking bringing Johnny Blaze back so they wanted to differentiate the two more since they have similar looks, personally I like Ketch's new look better anyway. Moving on, the villains here weren't really all that menacing or visually arresting even compared to the first movie with Blackheart and Mephistopheles who never quite fully looked like their comics counterparts. I mean, okay Blackout has cool powers here, neat fight scenes with Ghost Rider, and his design was somewhat close to the comics but the actor playing him didn't exactly do anything great with the role. He was basically just some uncharismatic goon working with some creepy frail old dude playing the devil. That being said I found it hilarious how he got his ass handed to him by GR at the end however anti-climactic it may have been.
I'll put it this way; the movie doesn't do anything particularly special in the story department and the acting is a pretty mixed bag but what mainly elevates the movie for me to the above average area is the great visual usage of Ghost Rider, the overall style (editing, sets, costumes), and the soundtrack.
7/10

It was worse than the first one, and I remember the first one being pretty 'eh.'
