Seriously. You can take almost any episode from the Cybermen's past and they're always cool (Tomb of the Cybermen, for example...what an amazing episode. Earthshock as well), but I can't say the same for the Daleks. I mean, if you're already familiar with the show and know their rep, fine, but for a newbie, I would think they'd come across as kinda cheesy, especially with the toilet plungers and their fucking wacky, screeching voices. I have a friend I'd like to get into Doctor Who, and I sure wouldn't show him a Dalek episode to get him started (except maybe "Dalek"). Never understood why the Brits jizzed about them so much.

Daleks are pretty lame :/. Love the show but just can not get into them.

So, remaining unanswered questions after Saturday's season finale. Let me know if I've missed any (questions OR answers).

So, DOES River know the Doctor's name or not? And if so how does she find it out?
-River says that the Doctor didn't tell her his name at their wedding. But when the Doctor sees River for the first time and River sees the Doctor for the last time, she seems to know his name.

Why did the Doctor lie to Amy and Rory about having told River his name at the wedding?
-I would imagine this doesn't have an "answer" it's just something that doesn't make sense to me. You could argue he didn't want anyone else to overhear that "look into my eye" thing and suspect the Teselector robot switch so that he could better fake his own death. But if his name is the key to fields of Trenzalore, as seems to be implied, wouldn't River knowing it be just as bad?

How did the Silence destroy the TARDIS in last season's aborted timeline?
-I guess this doesn't matter/NEED a resolution after the universe was rebooted, but we never did learn how the Silence blew up the TARDIS.

The "Silents" and Madame Kavorian are members of the "Silence" but who is Kavorian, where did she come from, what is her relation with the Silents?
-I hope that Kavorian's death in this season's aborted reality won't mean she be back on the show, I hope to learn more about her.

What happens on the fields of Trenzalore? Why mustn't anyone answer the oldest question?
-New questions!

What was behind the Doctor's door in the hotel of nightmares?
-Again, don't personally feel this really needs an answer.

Who told River that fixed points can be changed?
-Could have been a throw away line, though.

I like the Daleks, mostly because I find the idea of killer salt-and-pepper shakers to be hilarious.

I like the daleks too. Mostly because they actually do kind of look like modern robots (more so in the 60s and 70s than now) and the idea of them being one of the most powerful alien races is kind of hilarious.
