If any of you are interested into getting into the older stuff, AVClub is running a series about all the Who from Docs 1 - 8:

The articles help bring about good discussion. I can't wait for next week's review of Time and the Rani because of how awful it is. My wife found a place to grab it and we watched it... and that's probably some of if not the absolute worst episodes of television that I have ever seen.
I like the Cybermen.
Oh-mah-gah is how the Third Doctor pronouced it in the 3 Doctors special. We hit season 18, 1980, the Leisure Hive yesterday. Watching all the episode from the beginning has been quiet a project, but there are numerous good ones. Tomb of the Cybermen, with the 2nd Doctor being one of my favorites. Dog$, I'll check that out.![]()

Tomb of the Cybermen was amazing, even with all the silly low-budget effects. I got a great big lol when the black guy threw the obvious dummy Cyber Controller into the console. Earthshock is another great Cyberman story, but you have a ways to go before you get to that one (5th Doctor).
A friend talked me into giving this show a try on Netflix instant. Started the first episode. Reported back to him: "zombie mannequins. Are you fucking kidding me?" He was all, I know, it's stupid, and the effects are kinda shitty through the whole show, but just go with it. So a few days later I go back and finish that one.
...
That was three days ago. I'm now almost finished with the Eccleston run. How did I never try this before why is it so good oh my god.
That's what happened to me, then one day I just sat down and watched a whole mess of them.
Tennant is still my favorite, Smith is getting there, and I still like Eccleston. I feel like Eccleston would be the only Dr to get in a fist fight though.
