"Question the world man... I know the meaning of everything right now... it's like I can touch god." - bbobb the ggreatt
Finally saw this last night.
I get what Nolan wanted but I sort of hate it. I just couldn't get past Batman giving up on being the Batman for 8 years. That's not the Batman I learned to love.
Also, way too much trying to go on at the same time. Felt a little like Spider-Man 3 without being that god awful.

Before/after clips of Bane's voice from the IMAX preview and final theatrical versions of the Dark Knight Rises prologue.

I think Bane's original voice was a little creepier, but if I didn't already know the dialogue I'd have no fucking clue what he was saying. Nolan made the right choice in cleaning it up.

I will say that I had no problem understanding Bane for 99% of the movie. However the person I saw it with said they couldn't understand 99% of it.

I loved Bane's voice. Seriously, he was my favorite part of the movie and his voice was the biggest part of that.
I understood every word.

Spoilers ahoy!
Finally got to see it and thought it was great. I rewatched Begins and TDK just before seeing it and I think that helped me enjoy it more. Brought me back into Nolan's version of Batman and saw the themes stretch across all 3 movies (it works really well as a trilogy). It's an intense journey, the more epic scope of this one separates it from TDK which is just a monster of a movie to try and beat (which I don't think it did). I liked just about everything about it and while it has it's problems I think it works really well. I think most of the complaints could be fixed with just a few alterations of dialog and editing. There's a lot to wrestle with that got a little out of control. What's done is done.
I think it looks amazing, Nolan has gotten much better with action which each movie he makes. There is some downright beautiful imagery all over the place. Special Effects were awesome, just about everything looks completely real and believable. Hathaway was much better than I though she'd be. I'm not a fan of hers, but I think she really nailed the part (she looks fantastic in that catsuit, the 12 yr old boy comments are just nonsense). I could understand Bane fine and he made for a great imposing villain. I dug the ties with the Raz and Talia and I thought the end was satisfying. I would also have been fine with a full death or even a Inception ending with Alfred sitting down at the table, looking over. smile, cut to black. Whichever, I liked the more happy ending anyway.
I separate this world in my head from the pinnacle of Batman's comic stories (Returns, Year One, Long Halloween etc) by seeing it as Nolan's books. It's just his interpretation of Batman, using most of the elements that make Batman great. It sits next to those stories, not on top of them. In this way I see it as Bruce retiring, not giving up. That said, I was really disappointed that his last fight with Bane wasn't more of a one up by Batman. Instead of just managing to disable the mask i thought he'd figure out a way to slow and break him down (like the fight he had with that huge leader in TDK Returns, get's him in the mud and uses it as "an operating table"). More of a physical triumph over Bane.
