Watched Dredd last night, it was good. I'm sure Zack Snyder really loved it. I've never read a Judge Dredd book and I've never seen the Stallone movie (which I want to now) so it was all new. Karl Urban was great, the rookie was good too. Reminded me of The Raid, but in the future. Some interesting direction and cinematography choices that made some surprisingly pretty stuff in there mixed in with the violence.

This movie and the Stallone flick are like night and day. The look of Mega City One is closer to the comic in Sly's flick due to the much higher budget, but otherwise it's 120% pure cheese. You're in for some good (unintentional) laughs.

Also, I'd suggest picking up some of the 2000 AD Judge Dredd trade paperbacks, if you dig comics at all.

Lionsgate just announced really high sales! Top digital download for its release week and it sold 650k dvd/blus!
