What about Transformers cards, wacky packs, and Garbage Pail Kids? Besides sports cards, those were all popular in my elementary school.

DUDE. I remember getting those cards, it was like a race between my friends to get those foil cards together and make the image in our card binders. I remember getting the gambit one first and marking out. My friend threw out the Prof X one when he got it because his ass was so ugly.

I had so many of those cards. I remember series two they had a Promo Juggernaut or some shit that sold for mad loot. My cousin had it and traded it to some kid in his school for a fat stack of shitty Punisher comics. Oh, to be young and naive again.
