I wouldn't worry about it. DelTorro has been waiting to make this movie for years. If it has 3D it will be tastefully done and will not ruin anything if viewed outside of a 3D theater. This guy is one of my current favorites, and there is no one I'd rather see touch this story.

Yeah... real 3D like Avatar, not post-converted 3D that looks like a moving ViewMaster picture like Clash of the Titans (and everything else that's come out in 3D). But hey, if even that doesn't appeal to you, I'm sure the option to see it in 2D will be available.
What's important is that Guillermo is finally getting to make the movie he's been building his whole career toward, with the financial backing to make it the best it can possibly be. Plus for HPL fans, it's our best hope of ever seeing a film adaptation of his work get it right ('cause Yig knows that hasn't happened so far).
