Probably. I just got it so late in the game that I didn't care enough to change up what was working for me.
The trick is to hold and move around; it'll drain salts but the shield will move with you, and when you release the shield you'll end up flinging back whatever you caught. That is the best use of that power, honestly: it's really handy when you have enemies like firemen and the asshats with flareguns just chucking stuff constantly.

I like that the very end was totally Monsters, Inc.
In the ending...
After getting off the boat did you check for silver eagles every time?
I'm upset I only figured out how to slow and speed up the rails at the very end :/
Good game, excellent story, and amazing visuals. That's all.
Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim.
Was anyone dissapointed with the final boss battle, and I do use the term "Boss" loosely here. (Slight ending spoilers here)
The final battle where you just face off a bunch of Patriot robots and a Vox Populi fleet. I mean, it was pretty neat being able to control the Songbird and tell him what Zeppelins to attack, but the way they handled the events afterwards seemed like a missed opportunity. When the Whistler device breaks after destroying the angel statue it would've been cool to fight the songbird while zipping around on the skyrails while Elizabeth tries to open that tear to Rapture to crush him under the ocean floors pressure, instead of just instantly "God-moding" Songbird as soon as it regained control of it's own senses again. Would've added a bit more tension before that ending in my opinion.
Other than that though, fantastic game. But I don't think a Bioshock game will ever get a truly satisfying final battle though.
Yeah, that was lame. Pretty much all the fighting near the end of the game was lame. Outside the comstock house and then the loony been crap. So far every Bioshock game has been 1-2 hours too long.
