Thread: Hipsters

  1. Frogacuda is the only true hipster here because he knows of their secret lairs. However, i have reason to believe that these are the red herring secret lairs because he would NEVER reveal the true hipster clubs lest he reveal a club that you're not good enough to know about.

    Right?
    Donk

  2. I won't say superior, but they weren't as commercial. Even so, Brian Johnson AC/DC (except for Stiff Upper Lip) is pretty great.

There are 1.2 million women in Brooklyn. Also anyone from Staten Island is unfuckable. And anyone in Queens or The Bronx is too far away to date (though ok for an occasional booty call, I guess). Ramon doesn't like black girls so the upper part of Manhattan's out... It can be quite the conundrum.

I don't even know any Manhattan girls anymore. They literally all moved to Williamsburg or Greenpoint or Carol Gardens or whatever.

  5. I would say superior. In fact, I did.

I will not get into an argument on which is better, but it is safe to say that the Bon Scott albums are a better buy and you get more good songs per album. Back in Black and For those about to rock, are ok albums. It is hard to say because they are much mor e"80s" than the Bon Scott stuff. If you love that 80s sound, you will love those albums. If you love bluesy almost punk stuff, you will love the Bon Scott stuff more. And it is hard not to like at least a few tracks off of "who made who" because it was the sound track of a pretty good steven king horror movie.

It is also safe to say that everything after 88 is almost useless.

EDIT: I personally like the Bon Scott stuff more. It is more bluesy, with a few fast songs here and there like "can I set next to you girl." The raw amp tone of that Marshall comes through very well on those albums. Maybe only marginally so when compared to the 80s stuff, but whatever. The tone is so up front and clear on those albums that you can hear the cross over distortion between the output tubes because those amps are not biased 100% right. I am such an amp dork

  7. Back in Black was written with Bon in mind.

Going back to my earlier point about where they congregate (at least in NYC), here are pictures of actual popular hipster music venues in New York. Look closely:
    Here's another example:

Oh wait, no, that's in DC.

  10. I don't think Bon could have carried Back in Black, imo.
