  2. If all you got out of this movie was "Those broads were crazy!" then you should probably stick to anime, cheeks.

because taking the movie at face value is so much more intelligent.

"it is a movie about putting on a ballet of swan lake...and get this...the twist is...the lead BECOMES the both swans in the process. Get it, get it!?! She becomes the embodiment of both swans. Isn't that clever!?!"

No, I'll stick to my interpretation. That the movie explored the human condition and used the story of swan lake as a vehicle to explore passion, obsession, fear, weakness, and madness. That both swans were symbolic for two apposing ideals within the main character. About her ideas of being the best, perfect and how that related to her own expression and how she had suppressed her own self to reach certain goals in life.

whatever, you two are just trolling me.

    EDIT:

Doc, you fucking asshole. We aren't even arguing. You took my comment in regards to sats about the mom as me saying the movie is about the mother. Saying she died to get away from her mother does mean I'm saying that is the point of the movie.

Then you say "The movie was about Nina becoming both swans" but later pretty much write the same shit I do about the movie being about "This is a story about a performance artist, the pressures they deal with to make their dreams come true, and the weaknesses the profession exploits. In this case, obsession, perfection, and actors losing their minds to get into a role." There is kind of a jump between saying the movie is about some bitch turning into birds and saying the movie is about a woman dealing with life.

It's really not. It parallels the sort of limited aspects of the Swan Lake story repeated throughout the film, but there's no villain character, no mistaken identity, and the prince doesn't die at the end. The parallels are actually not that strong, but the way they tell it in the movie intentionally begs you to make a connection.
