Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury

This is a million times better than the DS version. Conceptually they have a lot in common (in that they are both stripped down and targetted more toward hardcore fans of the original), but in execution this manages a lot of really strong level design that the DS one does not.

But also really brutal hard level design. So take that as you will. For me the original Bangai-O left me really hungry for more challenging levels, and if that's you buy this now.

I (somehow) finished all 47 levels of fury mode. The game got way too difficult in those last 15 stages or so. Pure insanity. 1 hour of dying per level just about. I swear I finished some of them by pure luck. I ended up creating a map with just the last boss on it to practice - and even then I can only beat him 1 out of 10 tries, heh.

After fury mode you unlock 50+(!) completely new stages. Guess what? They are twice as hard as what ive seen in Fury mode. One of them even puts 2 last bosses on the screen at once. Yeah beating every level aint happening.

Great game but maddeningly difficult. I kinda wish the whole game was paced like the first 10 stages. Maybe they need to think about adding multiple lives to Bangai-O.
