Report: Nick Barnett done for the season

Earlier tonight, Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Senintel reported that Packers linebacker Nick Barnett would miss the season if/when he has surgery to repair a wrist injury suffered on Sunday against the Lions.

Now, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Barnett is "out for the season." Schefter says that the injury is similar to the one that ended Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher's season in 2009.

The news caps a bad two days for Packers fans. First, they failed to land running back Marshawn Lynch. Then, receiver Randy Moss returned to the Vikings, where he'll team up with Brett Favre. Now, Barnett leaves a gaping hole in the second level of the Green Bay defense.

Tom Brady wasn't the key to winning any of those rings. Hell, the first one he didn't even lead the team to the playoffs. He didn't fuck it up, for which he deserves credit, just like Trent Dilfer, Doug Williams, etc.
