Uh, did you play the hollow, buggy piece of shit that was Tomb Raider Anniversary? 100% better? I think not.

I like Tomb Raider Anniversary but it does feel like a different game than the original (as opposed to the RE remake). The graphics and controls are smoother but it also seems more linear and easy. There's something about the atmosphere of isolation the original has that wasn't quite replicated.

And say what you will about Mega Man Legends (I had to buy a map for it) but The Misadventures of Tronne Bonne was AWESOME.

Let's not forget Abe's Odyssey, Einhander, Vagrant Story, Tomba, Klonoa, Suikoden 1 and 2, Parasite Eve (still good), Final Fantasy Tactics (if you don't like the PSP remake), MDK, Tecmo's Deception series, Tail of the Sun, Strider 2, etc. etc.

With imports the list gets doubled.

I played the original Tomb Raider on a PC with a 3dfx card. When I saw the PS version I vomited.

Seeing Street Fighter Alpha on the Playstation at my friend's house was enough to drop whatever Nintendo fanboyism I had during my childhood and get a PSX for myself. Sure, when you look back at SFA1 now, it's not that great, but in 1996, it was pretty sweet.

For PSX, I have fond memories of Parappa the Rapper and Klonoa: Door to Phantomile. Also, this:

I remember pre-ordering that with the Jogcon or whatever it was called. I think I still have it in my closet. I could never play with the damn thing. Hell, I still remember pre-ordering SotN and Gran Turismo and the guys at Software Etc. had no idea what either game was.
