Thread: Asura's Wrath

  1. #61
IGN review is up. Sounds interesting but it's mostly cutscenes and QTEs and only lasts about 6 hours.

I'd be curious enough to try it for around $15.

They could have saved a bunch of money by just making Asura a SF4 character and be done with it. Added bonus? Make his Ultras all QTEs where if you fail, you only do a percent of the total damage.

So I clicked on Eurogamer's review of this expecting and maybe hoping to see a 5/10 to justify my complete lack of interest in it. Not even close!

  4. IGN had pretty much the same review. I'll probably bite at the first sale.

  5. Sounds like some $$s were involved.

You have to remember that all gaming journos are just as obsessed as the major publishers with making the media Legit - that is, strip gaming out and cram as much movie bullshit in as possible. Why do you think these writers go ga-ga over Uncharted?

Because video games are like any other medium and having varied experiences to choose from is not a negative. Sometimes I feel like Bayonetta, sometimes I feel like Uncharted, and sometimes I feel like Metal Gear Acid.

Should every game be Ashura's Wrath? No. Is Asura's Wrath entertaining and worth the price of admission? Sounds like maybe it is.

Because it's better than anything Nintendo has done since Pikmin 2?

They're also sometimes pretentious poofs, but yes far more respectable overall.

I'm not plunking down $60 for this, but it'll drop in price quickly enough anyway.
