Thread: Rap Songs Which Reiterate The Plot of the Movie Over the Credits

  1. Rap Songs Which Reiterate The Plot of the Movie Over the Credits

    or

This is Serious, So Give Me a Quarter.

During the 90s, there was this very strange intersect between (mostly) children's movies / high studio budget / the end credit rap theme song.

These songs would awkwardly work in the main points of the movie's plot, so you would know exactly what you just watched on your way out. Just in case! Here are a few of these:

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

(which gets double points, as the music video doubles as an epilogue to the movie!)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze

(This I am counting on a technicality, as crooks were fought until they were all out cold several times over the course of the movie)

    Addams Family

    Los Cazafantasmas 2

(Moreso than the Run DMC track, which is more of a general-issue theme song; This one covers Vigo and what-not.)

    Friday

Will Smith did a lot of these. Coincidentally, they went into decline around this time.
    Men in Black

(that alien looks like something out of Donkey Kong Country 2, looking back)

    Wild Wild West

I know there are many more! Bonus points if the music video includes new footage filmed during production.

  3. Gangsta's Paradise and Men in Black still fucking rule as songs, though. How do you not do the dance routine at the end of the Will Smith video?

  4. I don't think the phenomena went away because it was bad exactly, it just got overexposed. There wasn't much to do after Men in Black blew the doors off the thing.

  8. You'll notice the footnote in my second post? Let's move on.

I can't be bothered to read all your footnotes. You make so many of them.
