Thread: Tomb Raider (Crystal Dynamics' 4th)

  1. Good stuff, not sure if its a day one thing but it's tempting.

  2. I'm curious about it, but I don't think I'll be dropping anywhere near 50 bones for it. Steam sale, probably. It looks a lot like the Uncharted games, but then, I've never really played any of them, so.

  3. It really doesn't.
    Boo, Hiss.

  4. What are some of the major differences? Honest question.

  5. Everything but the TREASURE HUNTER theme.
    Boo, Hiss.

  6. Well the review embargo ends today so we'll see plenty of reviews as the day goes on. I want to know more about the pc version which supposedly has lots of visual improvements. You can get the download key at Amazon for like 34 bucks or something using the CAGROCKS code (a one time use code) and you get a $5 credit too if you pre-order it there. I'll think about it...

This game really is nothing like Uncharted.

If you trust a woman, whom I've never heard of, on IGN, this turned out really well. I don't, but I remain hopeful that she happens to be right, against all odds.

edit: Interestingly, Eurogamer also gave this to a woman, whom I don't recall from prior reviews. She was almost as impressed.

edit2: Edge's unidentified reviewer agrees with Eurogamer, so I'm bought in that this is 8ish/10 now.

Since I'm already on the hook for this, I don't want to read the text as to avoid spoiling anything or influencing my experience.

edit3: Why would they have a review embargo that then expires a week before the game is released?

  9. I think that's one of IGN UK's writers. It seems that this has hit its mark with the natives, at least.

Ah, that makes sense. And given that CD is American, at least there's no developer homerism like there could have been with Core. If anything, she'd be harder on them.

edit: She should have signed the review "Keza 'at least I'm not Jeremy Parish' MacDonald."
