Not that I disagree that it's stupid to call it real censorship, just saying.
I don't pay attention to manufactured controversy.

  2. And the military still won't sell it despite the name change. Haha.

The Army & Air Force Exchange Service has decided that, despite EA's recent moniker change of "Taliban" to "Opposing Force" in Medal of Honor's multiplayer component, that its decision not to sell the title "remains unchanged."

In a statement, the AAFES's Commander Maj. Gen. Bruce Casella said, "Out of respect to those touched by the ongoing, real-life events presented as a game, Exchanges will not be carrying this product." He continued, "I expect the military families who are authorized to shop the Exchange are aware, and understanding, of the decision not to carry this particular offering."

Last week, the AAFES was "engaged in a thorough review to fully understand the extent of the modifications." Apparently it wasn't enough. We've contacted EA for a statement

  3. Theres a very good (and new) interview about this game. It seems the Military Operators played a bigger role in this game than I thought and this interview goes into depth about how it took a while for them to be convinced this game was worth their time. Interesting read.

    Heres a cool bit:
[ODG] What specific element of this game in particular do you feel will appeal to military gamers?

[Greg Goodrich] I think the sense of brotherhood we tried to instill in the game will appeal to military gamers. Especially in the last chapter. We tried to illustrate the lengths to which these men will go to for one another. I really hope military gamers see this as a giant “Thank you” letter. Because that is exactly what it is. There is a wonderful dedication at the end of the game. After the final curtain falls. It was a space we gave to our consultants to say whatever they wanted to say to their community. Not a single individual at EA touched it. We placed it on the screen as it was written by the guys and then Ramin wrote a score for it. This is the part of the game that I am most proud of.
NowPlaying: Battlefield series . DarkSouls . MGS collection . Cap+SNK fighters . AceCombat series . ArmoredCore series

  4. This situation with the Military not selling the game on base is an easy PR win for EA. All they have to do is donate 1000 copies or something to overseas bases.

  5. The only people who still shop on military bases are retirees who don't know about Amazon. It's a non-issue.

  6. Just got this and put an hour into it. You CANNOT Rambo in this game. You will die quick and often. Smoke grenades are your best friend for sure. It feels like Call of Duty not Battlefield. Fun game but it won't replace Battlefield for me. Not even close.

Meh. I wanted to get it just for the B2G1F, but now I am not so sure.

  8. Oh I never expected this game to be better than Battlefield (really, what multiplayer game out there is) - I liked it more than COD and probably Reach though. Never hurts to have a couple MP games (especially DICE MP games). + BF3 beta. Theres no way im missing playing that early.

  9. I picked this up, almost ended up with PS3 version because of Frontline, but then I remember PSN (lol).
